How large can you print?
This depends on the product. For vinyl, we can print up to 16 feet wide without any seams, and at almost any length. Beyond 16 feet, we have in-house seaming and welding equipment that enables the completion of virtually any sized project.
What determines the price of a job?
Many variables factor into the price, including the material used, the size and quantities of each piece, the number of different creatives, and the finishing required. One thing that does not effect price is the number of colors.
Can you provide me a proof before printing?
We always provide an e-mail proof without any charge, which is very helpful in confirming the layout and content, but is not effective for color matching, since an monitors (and printers) are a little different. If color is critical we offer and suggest you choose a hard copy proof.
What is your turnaround time?
Our standard turnaround time is 72 hours after proof approval. However, if you do need something produced faster we can usually make that happen. Please give us a call and we will let you know immediately if we don't feel we will be able to meet your deadline. 877-229-4050 sales@bigmountain.com
What other charges are there?
The pricing we provide you will be for the entire project, including pre-press, an electronic proof, any minor revisions, color matching, and finishing.
How can I access your FTP site to upload files?
You can click below or go to printingbigideas.com, click upload and be sure to notify csr@bigmountain.com with specs and that a file is coming!
What kind of files do you accept?
We accept any file compatible with Adobe Creative Suites. When providing working files please package or collect all links and fonts that go with your layout.
If you do not anticipate making any copy changes at the pre-press stage please be sure to OUTLINE all of your fonts.
What resolution should I choose and what do you recommend?
For best results consider the viewing distance and size when it comes to printing large format banners. In general, the closer the viewer will be to the banner, the higher the print resolution should be.
Trade show banners, for instance, which are regularly viewed at short distances, should be printed with at least 300 dpi resolution. A billboard, which may be viewed at 1/4 mile or more can be printed at 25 dpi.
Big Mountain Imaging has a variety of printers which produce excellent output for the required application. If you are not sure how to build your file at the appropriate resolution please see our Pre-Press Specification sheet or contact one of the members of our Art Department.
What is the best way to ensure I get the colors I want?
The best way is to either provide us a color accurate hard copy proof or swatch of the efforts) you want us to match, or provide us the CMYK breakdown from the PMS Process Pantone Guide.
We will not guarantee SOLID PMS colors, they are built in RGB.
• Big Mountain Imaging will not match color to a laser proof. Laser proofs are accepted but for content ONLY.
What is Bleed?
Printing that goes beyond the edge of the final trim size. Why is bleed important? Bleed insures that your graphic will fully cover the surface you are trying to decorate/ cover. Always add bleed to your flies prior to sending them in to be produced.
Can you create the artwork for me?
Our Art Department offers comprehensive services to support all of your design needs; from Logos to complete brand identities. If you have a current brand identity we have the capabilities to create artwork that holds the integrity of your current brand.
Wall Covering:
What is a wall mural?
A mural is any piece of artwork applied/affixed directly on a wall, ceiling, or other large permanent surface.
What are your wall murals printed on?
Vinyl: A smooth adhesive-backed film that can be applied to just about any surface. Vinyl films are typically laminated to protect the printed graphic.
Why digital murals/ wallcoverings?
Creative boundaries have been eliminated with the advent of digital printing. Size, scale, colors, and patterns are no longer as Limited as they once were.
What if the wall I want the mural on is not a smooth surface?
If you have a textured wall, a brick wall, a wail made from cinder block, or any other rough surface, we recommend the installation of a textured wall film, 3M IJ8624. This film can be heated to conform to just about any rough/ textured wall.
Building Wraps:
What is a building wrap?
A building wrap is a large graphic that is secured/applied to the side of a building for the purpose of advertising or decorating.
What type of material is a building wrap produced on?
Building wraps are produced on various types of materials depending upon durability, strength and exposure to a number of variables, such as: weather, surface type, and surface condition. Vinyl banners form the best medium for a mix of marketing activities whether they be vinyl mesh, self-adhesive vinyl or perforated self-adhesive vinyl all make up the common materials used for building wraps graphics.
How do I go about wrapping my building?
Setting up a consultation/ site inspection is recommended. We will set up a time to come out and inspect the surface and condition of the building. We'll recommend the right material for any application.
How long does a building wrap take?
All work is custom and depends on the size of the project and scope of the job. Most building projects are completed in as little as 2-3 days.
